I haven't received a copy of Scott Westerfeld's Leviathan yet. While I'm waiting, these sweet treats, courtesy of Cake Wrecks, are soothing my restless steampunk soul.

Those cakes are gorgeous! I haven't read any steampunk yet - but I've decided to take the plunge. Any recommendation as to what to start with?
Try Kenneth Oppel's books (Airborn et al) and Philip Reeve's Hungry Cities series (the first is Mortal Engines)
