LA Times "Best of 2008" lists

Sonja Bolle, a talented writer and fanatical reader who really should be given much more space in the LA Times (not just once a month in the electronic version), has shared her list of 2008 faves in YA and children's fiction.

And here is her list of choice 2008 picture books. Unfortunately, no jacket art is shown - boo, LA Times!

  1. I need to get my hands on that "ABC3D" book...I've seen it everywhere, and it looks amazing!

I'm also stopping by to let you know that I left you an award on my blog! http://wellreadchild.blogspot.com/2008/12/butterfly-award.html

  2. Hello - I swear this is not a comment to promote my own blog, but to start a discussion between two crazed kid's book readers. Have you read anything by Frances Hardinge? Her two books are "Fly by Night" and "Well Witched." They are both very different and amazing in their own ways, I am passionate about kid's books and would love to swap titles with you sometime. tanya @ www.books4yourkids (I just posted reviews of both of Hardinge's books last week.)

  3. I'm a big fan of Hardinge and can't wait to read more. I reviewed Well Witched for School Library Journal (and for this blog) - she has such a subtle and twisty writing style. I'll go visit your blog to read your reviews!
