I really liked that post on the ALSC blog. It was a good overview of the practical issues raised by the proliferation of graphic novels as well as an appreciation of their value.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read your post yet, but would like to add in the spirit of "opening a can of worms" that Robot Dreams was the first graphic novel I read is the book that started my small obsession with the graphic novels..
ReplyDeleteOh, the bittersweetness of "Robot Dreams"...! For me, I think it was Death Jr. by Gary Whitta (drawn by the incomparable Ted Naifeh).
